Bernese Mountain Dog

Bernese Mountain Dogs are described as good natured, calm, and strong dogs who are categorized in the working group of god breeds. The Bernese Mountain dogs coast is tri-colored. The ground color is jet black, and the markings are rich rust and clear white. The Bernese Mountain Dog has a double coat, with a longer outer coat and a wooly undercoat. Berners shed a fair amount, even more so during shedding season, which occurs twice a year. They are considered a large dog breed with a height ranging of 25-27.5 inches for the males, and 23-26 inches for the females. Their average weight is 80-115 pounds for the males, and 70-95 pounds for the females. Their life expectancy is 7-10 years.
